What we do

Built around your buildout

Three kinds of work, one engineer who knows how Denver area reviewers think.

Nail salons and spas

From a 6 chair shop to a full service spa, we draw everything the city needs to issue your permit.

  • Pedicure station plumbing and drains
  • Nail station exhaust and ventilation
  • ADA restroom and floor layout

Restaurants and cafes

Kitchens are where permits stall. We design them to pass building and health department review.

  • Hood, exhaust and make up air
  • Grease interceptor sizing
  • Change of use from retail to restaurant

Structure and storefront

The structural pieces every buildout needs, sized for Colorado snow and wind.

  • Rooftop unit and walk in cooler supports
  • Wall openings and new beams
  • Signs, canopies and patios

Architectural blueprint for a cafe restaurant
From our founder
I have engineered a lot of nail salons, and I know what is on the line. You signed the lease, rent is due, and every week in review costs you money.

That is why Thang Dat is built around small business buildouts. One engineer who answers the phone, drawings done right the first time, and someone who walks the inspection with you.

FAQ

Questions owners ask us

Opening for the first time? Start here, or call and we will walk you through it.

Do I need an engineer to open a nail salon?

In most Denver area cities, yes. A new salon or a remodel that adds plumbing, ventilation or changes walls needs stamped drawings before the city issues a permit. We prepare the full set and respond to the reviewer's comments.

What does a restaurant permit set include?

Usually a floor plan, kitchen equipment layout, hood and exhaust design, plumbing with grease interceptor sizing, and any structural work for rooftop units or new openings. The health department reviews the kitchen separately, and we prepare that submittal too.

Can you look at a space before I sign the lease?

Yes, and we recommend it. A short site walk tells you if the space has the drains, gas, electrical and roof capacity you need, or if those upgrades will blow up your budget.

How long does it take?

Drawings for a typical salon or small restaurant take a few weeks once we measure the space. City review times vary, and we track your submittal and answer comments fast so nothing sits.

How much does it cost?

We quote a fixed fee based on the size and scope of your space. Send us the address and what you plan to open, and you get a written quote within one business day.
